Microchipping

I am thinking of getting my mini microchipped as i couldnt bear it if someone pinched him!!! ( although he would be back the next day!!

)
I have heard bad/good opinions on Microchipping about the chip travelling in the body and causing bad reactions and wondered if people could share their opinions/experiences on it.

Never had any problems with it, even got the needleshy boy done!

I've got my horses chipped.

Went on to freezemark though as I felt the micro chip wasn't enough of a deterrent for theft.

If you're having a chip put in, I'd recommend a micro mark. As I was doing it separately I thought I might as well just have a full freezemark instead.

never had problems ... our yearling is microchipped and as far as im aware shes fine

Mine are microchipped - never had a problem. Even Tilly-monster was done when she was a foal. Chips have never moved (vet checks them when they have their vaccs)

both my boys done as ex-racers, but good feeling if ever they were stolen (god help the stealers!!!) lol.

Mine is chipped....vet did it for me...hasn't moved & never had any problem

Chip 'travel' is not an issue for horses as the chip is inserted into the band of cartilage running down their neck, so it can't move.
With cats and dogs it is just inserted under the skin, so has been known to migrate.
