Considering feeding micronised linseed to our 15yo 14.2hh pony as been told it acts as an excellent anti-inflammatory addition to feed due to Omega 3 fatty acids - pony has hock arthritis but has been kept hacking sound through Feedmark Best-Flex HA.
Pony is a good weight - mainly due to a restricted grazing type paddock - but would put weight on if allowed to graze on good grazing.
Pony was given Linseed oil at a previous yard and his coat was fantastic, he didn't put weight on, but mainly due to lack of grazing !
Am I risking weight gain now even though grazing is certainly not lush but he is out for about 8hrs and hacked 5-6 days a week.
Also, am I right in thinking it's non-heating energy too ?
Benefits and Cons (if any) please, thank you very much.
