Does anyone know if I can buy micronised linseed anywhere in Northern Ireland?
I want to feed it to 3 horses so these little tubs that I can get sent over from England would not last long and would cost me a fortune on delivery.

Any suggestions :)

You could try phoning Charnwood Milling and see if they have any distributors in N. Ireland or will ship to you direct.

I'm in ROI and they wont ship to me so I use this company atm who ship at a reasonable cost imo. It is Charnwood linseed I get from them and it is slightly more expensive than buying direct. Give them a ring to discuss, I've found them very helpful and efficient. http://www.efeed.co.uk/products/horse-feed/straights

I buy 20Kg sacks.

Charnwood Milling were really rude when I asked if they would ship to NI :( I use Feedmark and I'm feeding 3 on 200g/day each. I get their refill bags which are a bit cheaper and they are very reliable (48 hr delivery).

Thanks so you's don't know of anywhere here that I can actually go to and buy it. Oh well, I really begrudge paying those delivery charges!
Thanks for the suggestions :)

I realise this thread is nearly a year old but I get micronsied linseed from farmandpetplace.co.uk delivered to the Republic for £20.99 for a 20kg sack, but postage is £18 for up to 28kgs so they add in 8 more kgs at 1.69 per kilo which I think is a real bargain. If you are buying another 28kg, it is only an extra £12. So that's 56kg for £99. I think that's great value! So they are probably even cheaper again to deliver to the North.

Still hard to believe there is no place to get it in Ireland. I thought this might be of use to someone, cheapest way I have found to get it. I'm pretty sure its Charnwood linseed too.

I drive over bags of feed once a month to my yard in Ireland, including Micronised linseed. If anyone wanted any brought over and could collect it from me in Co Meath, would be happy to bring some over. Think the Charnwoods costs me about £20 in my local feed merchants.

Does anyone have any ideas on where to get supps like boswellia or pure msm? I'm currently getting from pegasus but shipping to ni is very expensive

Just bumping this as it’s still impossible to get linseed in ni at respectable price. Farm and pet is £11.99 postage so £32 and pure feed means you have to buy two bags for £45 which will be okay if two need it but it’s only me and one bag would basically go to waste as 20kg lasts me a good winter. Simple systems is now up to £37.50 and it’s hard to get a time when the seller is at home and I’m available to go up

Local supplier has now become too unreliable and I have as yet been unable to get any this winter.

Are you buying from the guy out past Lisburn? He is nice to deal with but I think he probably just doesn't have the same spare time as Jim had unfortunately. Is he still stocking the Charnwood linseed or is he only doing the Simple Systems version now? Have you tried arranging a collection time with him directly? I've found them to be flexible if I book in a specific time to come and collect (within reason), not needed to stock up on linseed for a while, but will need to soon!

How many kgs and roughly how much are you paying RR?

I think it was just over £40 for a 9kg bag, does me the winter. I just like the fact that it is good quality, they're a fab company to deal with, and the delivery is free to the door in about 48 hours.

Having said that, I've got another one on Sid Flynn's garlic seaweed which he sends direct from Galway, and that horse is looking so fabulous and is so much freer in his joints, I think I'll be switching both onto it.

Quite expensive for the linseed but I suppose it's potentially less hassle and for 2 horses it might do if I can't get the charnwood stuff. Will try next week.
I follow Sid on fb but I don't know anyone who feeds it, interesting to hear you've got on so well with it!

I'm a complete sceptic when it comes to supplements, but I've a few friends who use it and I needed something for a horse who had surgery in the spring and took all summer to regain his condition, so when I read that the GS helped with digestion, condition and joints I thought well, may as well try it. I messaged Sid and got it a couple of days later. I am sceptical no longer (about GS anyway!).

essentially equestrian do charnwood for 38 euros plus 5 euros delivery, i think they are in mullingar rep of ireland or round there somewhere

Finally got a bag arranged from simple systems only charged me £27 so not too bad actually. Yes he’s v hard to pin down mostly! Hopefully this will do all winter tho

Who is the NI person for simple systems now? Could you pm me contact details equi?

He is called Alan McCoosh, he is a relative of Jim (nephew I think). Same contact details as before but he is based out near Legacurry (not far off the M1 at Lisburn). Phone number is 07896621391, Ballynahinch Road BT27 5LS.

Thanks sheep... I think Sophie might need linseed this winter and I'd lost Alan's details as we no longer have the veteran pony.....
