I put my horse on linseed oil a while ago to help her coat and skin. She went absolutely cuckoo! She thought everything was out to get her and the only way to survive was to go as fast as possible everywhere. I took her off it straight away.

Somebody mentioned micronized linseed gives condition without making them fizzy, has anyone tried it, if so, what results have you had?

Both ours are on micro linseed and no mental problems (and one is v prone to going nuts on alot of 'safe' feeds lol!!). Any chance that starting the oil coincided with the grass coming through? Micro linseed contains more omegas than the oil as the heat treatment destroys some of the nutrition so is worth considering changing to anyway?

Cheaper than oil, and has fibre, and is a less processed feed, it makes it very easy for me to add a bit of condition without fizz, help itchy skin and is general all round good feed to add to my fibre based diet.

*thread hi-jack alert*

Can you feed micronised linseed to a laminitic? Mine currently gets linseed oil on nutritionist recommendation, but she is very skinny & obviously I can't give her anything with sugar/starch combined more than 10% to get more condition on safely.

*hi-jack over, sneaks back to box*
