Before we go any further lets just get in that I love him so much I could squeeze him to death!

Typically *whatever* prep involved trekking to Leics the day before and hacking out with dad and the dog, then running through E53 in a very approx fashion....in his rope bitless bridle.........I'm sure this is how Carl does show prep right?!

Sun weather was much kinder than Sat and although he was like a cat on hot coals to start he settled quickly and we actually went in early.....a new exercise that seems to work for him at shows is walk piris to trot to canter to gain a bit more acceptance of the leg, so will be using that in future warm ups as in E53 It's those transitions to canter right at C that always get me, if he's at all tense then we like to do a crafty hump in to it......right in front of the judge lol HOWEVER not only did we just rock off in to canter without humping, we also did NO deer legs in medium canter AND WE WALKED!!!! legit 4 beat no sassy passage, just walk :)

Over the moon with 66.72% and eventual 7th out of 25 beating some much longer legged and elegant (but not so cute!) equines!

next stop is another 6yo pony class.....we did one a few weeks ago but did possibly the worst walk we have ever done! Hopefully a few outings further on and he can maintain this new found 4 beat mode.

In between we will mainly be yawping around in the rope bridle :) AF1.jpgAF2.jpgAF3.jpgAF4.jpg

He is just an awesome little Dude isn't he? Has he used his extra appendages yet for their proper use or is that not on the cards for him?

lol he is dummy trained (which he thankfully prefers to real ladies) but covid somewhat halted things last year. He has a couple of mares possibly to be inseminated on foal heat end of May but really i expect he will get more popular as he goes up the levels :) which is fine, he owes me nothing and is a competition pony first and foremost so we havent campaigned him at all in WPCS classes as i dont really like them/the behaviour they encourage or the morbid obesity needed to place.

he really is the easiest stallion, he hacks with in season mares, travels with them, ties up with them etc and is very mannerly-he pulls *the face* to tell us they are in season but no more, i am very lucky with him.
