Just seen at the start of the news that they are doing a report on horse riding and accidents related to it will be on.

May be worth a watch, considering the number of post on HHO that have trips to A&E and doctors mentioned!

Oswestry Equestrian Centre was featured and there was a shot of their indoor school and OMG the memories came flooding back! About 17 years ago I went on a childrens riding holiday for a week there, it wasnt an equestrian centre at the time, just a riding holiday place.
Was lovely to see the school again, us kids that were there (6 of us in total) used to go into the school after tea and put the jumps up and run around jumping over them as if we were horses! Oh they joy, no doubt it wouldnt be allowed any more for health and safety reasons - we were after all unsupervised *Gasp*!

The injured man intimated he had been wearing a fixed peak helmet, am I right to assume fixed peak or could his accident have been caused by a flexible peak?
Anyone hear that bit?

Sorry couldn't find a link to the footage.

There was a bit about a man who fell off his new horse and broke his spine and is now re-learning how to walk. A bit about Tim Stockdale's neck break and how BS have now undertaken a charity for 2012 in relation to recovery. Part of it was at a riding centre and talking about safety precautions.
