Had a bummer of a week, am really worried where I'll get the money to pay for it all, and am so so tired and stressed I could seriously consider just giving it all up. Here's my VetsRus quota so far:

Mon - Vet came as pony lame and ended up draining puss from foot; now we are on poulticing etc and box rest until who knows when.

Tues - new 10 week old puppy cut above his eye and it turned gammy so mid morning back to vet for antibios etc.

Tues - 5pm, took my 7 yr old terrier back to vet as blood pouring from gum, turns out he has a growth, more antibios etc.

Today - Was going bloodhounding until went to get horse from field and his back leg was caked liked maroon papier mache with dried blood, tonnes of it, soaked in his tail etc. Found deep wound up high inside his hind leg. Called vet, sedated, cleaned, dressed, pain killer jab, antibio jab. Don't know what he did but he defo cut into a blood vessel, hence the Texas Chainsaw Massacre special effects.

Vet back again this pm to take xrays in case of spiral / radial fracture.

Tomorrow - terrier goes in for his op on growth on gum.
Vet back again to re xray horse's leg as xrays didn't develop properly. Horse still sedated on box rest.

Friday - taking my hunter, my daughter's pony and my shetland to the clinic for feet xrays, and more Cushings and Insulin blood tests, and lameness work up.

So out of the 9 I've got on the yard, apart from the 2 retirees, we've only got two sound rideable neddies.

Someone stop the world, I want to get off....:(

Pointless post - but I've already finished the vino and have no choc in the house :(

Oo my, that really is bad luck. Hope they all feel better soon.

Would pass my family size bar of galaxy if you were closer ;)

Oh poor you! Doesn't it all come at once. If I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck! Somed ays I think of selling them all and getting a rabbit! Sounds like the vets should buy you a bottle of wine and chocs! Big hugs, and fingers crossed!

Oh you're having a bad time of it aren't you? I hope things get better for you soon. These things always happen at the same time, so you never have time to get over one thing - I know when these things happen to me, I just want to get in the car, drive on a one way trip and hole myself up until everything is right again. x

Oh dear that is a bad run of luck you have had. I do hope they are all better soon.

Have a *HUG* to help you guys get through it all and a nice bit of chocolate.

I know your feeling about bad luck. My own horse has been permanently ill for over the last year. As soon as one thing clears up he gets another. All big issues and cost me a fortune.

If you want a laugh I had my birthday last week and earlier on the week my vet was up. He wised me a happy birthday and told me he forgot my present. lol. I said if its my bill you can keep it. But he said nope I'll like it but i'm having to wait til he up next. lol. Think I give him too much business :P

Aw thanks guys, I'm sitting here having a cuddle from my fat cat, with my puppy curled up on my feet and it's chilled me out a bit :)

Yep it's a crap time right now, and to be honest it's been like this for several months, but surely it has to get better soon so I'll try to be positive.

Oh damn, just realised its my birthday soon, and I'll be really old, still single, and broke

....now where did I hide the cooking sherry....?

Oh god don't get a rabbit mine cost me £900.00 in vets bills

Angelbones will sling some chocolate over West Sussex to you hope all are better soon x

You are like me at the mo, each morning about 10 the vets ring and it is a astanding joke they are my coffee reminder call, in reality they are ringing to see what they are coming out for that day.
But it is hard to keep looking to brighter days but i think in my case i have got to the bottom of the valley of bad luck and time to head out to meet good luck somewhere.
P.s. my vet bill is mashoosive but they are happy long as i pay something every now and again

And now for a little update:

vet had to come back today to re do the xrays as they hadn't developed properly. All well and good, don't have to pay extra etc. But, after they left we got another one in from field and lo and behold, puncture wound to fetlock, blood etc. Rang vet who turned around and came right back again.

Didn't look too clever and horse ended up going to hospital as wound down to bone. He is in tonight on iv, having scans / xrays, fluid tapped etc. Poor chap, this is the one we haven't had for many weeks, he probably thinks we've sold him on :(

So he's in until poss Saturday at the earliest, but at least we get to visit him tomorrow when we take the other 3 down for their xrays, bloods and lameness workups

Still, my dog had his op today on his jaw and is fine :) and I didn't have to do school runs as daughter off poorly :p or so she'd have me believe. And, best yet, Alfie's xrays came back from his leg wound and he hasn't got a fracture of any type so that is one huge bit of good news, yay!

Anyone lend me a fiver?!

OMG Angelbones! What do you do to them! Does that mean you're down to one that works? Sending another hug! Sometimes I wish that they hybernated in winter!

Show girl I'm stunned - what can they do to a rabbit that costs £900, did they gold plate it! You've destroyed my fantasy of an easy rabbit life!

Oh dear thats not good news. If I wasnt in debt to my vet for around 2000 quid I would lend you a fiver ;) :P

Lets hope we both get some good news soon.

Healing vibes to you and your horses :D x

Wot's all this about chocolate??? sounds to me like you need to open a big bottle of wine! (but obviously a cheap one, in the circumstances...)

Blimey! I am sending you good vibes from 2 ponies with fat faces and 1 junkie on Pergolide at 8 years old! It would seem to be your 'turn' at the moment - poor you! Over the years I have paid for our practice's new Range Rovers, an operating room - padded of course - and a cintigraphy scanner!!!
Just have a word with the practice finance people and pay in installments, you are too much of a good thing for them to lose:) LoL!
Honey8 - on the bunny thing - get fish...they get sick....they die...you flush 'em! But be warned...! My sister won her fish, Peter, at the fair and had him for 15 years!!!!
GOOD LUCK.
best wishes Bryndu

!

God only know! They live a life of luxury, are allowed to be horses and not stable kept machines, and obviously want for nothing - so its not anything i do to them or anything I don't do for them  I guess it is my turn and then it'll be all uphill from there. Just got to get through tomorrow and that's my quota I feel, or I'll be having a word with Him Upstairs or some other higher being in charge of such stuff :)

And just in case anyone wonders what sort of yard I run, my vet happens to be on here and I'm sure would happily stand up and be counted (in her very expensive Manolos...;) )!
