ive been reporting and reporting the neglected ponies, today the inspector arrives and says to YOs daughter that he has been called out about 2 neglected ponies, so she showed them in to the ponies stable. OH was up and 'pretended' that he was in sorting out our rugs lol.

Inspector took photos and was there for a while looking them over. Went then to YOs house, but asked YOs daughter who they belonged to and took their number off her.

He was disgusted with 2 stallions in together, they had no water and the hay had poo and pee on it. They hadnt been cleaned out in ages and the stable was filled with poo, the pee was running out of the stable. He was also disgusted with the condition of the horses, told her he couldnt lift the horses now that he had to give the owners a chance to buck up their act, if that fails then they will be removed. He said he will be back up again on his next shift and their better be a huge improvement.

Im crying with relief, it seems to have taken ages for them to take me seriously, maybe now they will get better treatment!! OH said that he wants to them to provide proof that the ponies have seen a vet and farrier as they are clearly sick and feet are in bad shape. He asked her where their hard feed is and where their hay is kept. How often the owners are up etc, and YOs daughter said she didnt know as she was at college, so he asked OH who said that maybe once and week, twice if they were lucky.

Anyone with a love for our 4 legged friends would have done the same, im just glad they are taking me seriously now and the inspector has finally said that something needs done.
 
Gosh, I am so glad to see this. I have been reading your posts about these poor, poor horses, and I am so relieved that something is going to be done for them. Well done, you, for taking action. I will be watching out for news.

Well done for keeping on the case, I hope that the inspector does follow it up. One thing that puzzles me slightly, I thought that with the new Animal Welfare laws the YO could actually be held responsible for the ponies if they were on his premises, or have I got that wrong?
 
Good news, well done for reporting them. I hope so much these horses end up in happy homes and their current owners get what's coming to them.
 
Well done for sticking at it! I understand that you must have felt in a tricky situation as you prob didn't want to make waves with your YO. You've been very brave.

Well done for persevering, it's starting to pay off. Let's hope these ponies lives start improving dramatically very soon.

Thing is i dont think it will make the owner buck up on his ideas! He has to prove them with veterinary care and get a farrier out to them. Also they have to have separate stables and must be cleaned out/fed everyday.

OH said he was shocked to see the inspector, they didnt say when they would be out, nor did the inspector say when he would be back out again.

It was a horrible thing to have to do but the poor things are suffering, i will keep yous up to date on what happens now. Maybe they might be sold to a better home. My friend said them being stallions might put people off from buying them.
