My 18yr Tb had a mild bout of colic last night, he didn't require a vet and seems fine this morning. I'm not sure what to do feeding wise though? Should I carry on as normal or just give him a very basic fibre diet for a couple of days?

With all the colic stories on here lately I'm so worried about it happening again :(

Give the vets a ring and ask them, advice costs nothing and may put your mind at rest.

My boy has had a mild bout of colic in the past, once he had perked up i carried on as normal with him, but he doesn't generally get much hard feed in the grand scheme of things,if he usually goes out to graze and has hay and seems o.k then put him out and keep on eye on him?

It depends on what caused the colic .
After my horses impaction colic, she had no food from treatment with tubing and buscopan, pain relief etc. around midday until teatime the next day when we were sure she was cleared, then i built up her forage ration ( wet hay )slowly and in small regular increments over the next 24hrs and also gave very sloppy fibre feeds of chaff and watery beet pulp with added salt three times a day until i was sure things were moving along
