Mild Lymphedema

I am looking at a 20yr old 16h1 as a hack/small jumping which has lymphedema. He is an ex p2p horse and when stood overnight has small swollen pastern on the hind. Her vet has diagnosed lymphedema but he is 100% sound at all times. I have never experienced lymphedema before so would like to know if anyone has; what experiences did they have with it and if they were able to jump 2ft ish comfortably?
Any contributions to this subject would be great fully recieved
