Miley- any views?

We had a lovely foal by Miley but tragically at a few months old he had an accident in the field and had to be PTS so we will never know how he turned out.

However, my friend has a gelding by him. His dam was a good MW so he's not the lightest on his feet but he's as honest as the day is long - currently eventing PN/N.

I remember going to see Miley before we sent the mare to him (it must have literally been his first season covering and at the time he ran with his mares) and he seemed a sweetie.
 
i've seen him in the flesh, he's a lovely person but didn't have that WOW, LOOK AT ME that i think a stallion should have. just mho tho. the people who run alvescot are very very good, i sent my very tricky advanced mare to them to get in foal to Dimaggio, and they were totally brilliant with her, couldn't rate them highly enough.
one of his best eventers, a mare, was very honest but not exactly an athlete, tbh, when i saw her xc at a 3 star...
 
Ive got a yearling by his son Masterpiece, MIley has a few decent ones on the ground and got some good results too. I do think it depends whcih mare gets sent to him tho
 
I have a 6 month foal by his son Masterpiece, Masterpiece really does have the wow factor and Miley has a few good eventers competing, I guess it would depend on the type of mare you're sending
 
I think if i had a full t.b or even 3/4 tb mare I'd use him in a shot,but my mares wbxtbxid, so perhaps not quality enougth, as i want to bred something to event. Which is a shame as I really like Miley! I've seen masterpiece as well, as he stands at our vets, and again hes stunning but a bit too chunky for my mare though.
 
our mare in my sig with the foal is ID x TB and her foal by Masterpiece is really nice, very compact, the horse in my first 2 pics is by masterpiece out of a newforest mare and he is very fine. Good luck finding a suitable stallion
 
Thanks thats really intresting ,they look lovely, very well put together and not to chunky, were they out of coloured mares?
 
You can see Nico in the 3rd pic with his mum who is obviously coloured, frankie in first 2 pictures was out of a bay mare.

I wouldnt have said Masterpiece throws chunky foals, he's 7/8tb. My foal looked very similar in stamp to Aimee's which is above

Masterpiece throws nice compact horses too
 
I have two youngsters by miley one is coloured other a bay they both have the best temps ever so easy now two yr one is on preloved he is the bay . [image]http://waterlandmonet[/image] <font color="blue"> </font>
