Military shelters for horses in the field?

I saw (this) the other day on eBay, and it's got me wondering whether the ad is just a poor attempt at selling something no one's interested in, or whether you could actually use these military shelters for horses. Presumably, military grade material would stand up to a horse's hooves, though you'd definitely have to put some kind of bedding on it - would pee/poo ruin the flooring, do you think? And then, it looks like it would withstand wind very easily, but the two poles at the front make me worried.

Any opinions?

As you can get a reasonable portable 24 x 12 wooden shelter for about 2k plus vat, I'd question the sanity of any using a field tent instead.
Worth asking good shelter companies for a price based on the advert dimensions of 26 x 20 x 10, to compare.

These are such a ridiculous idea for horses on so many levels! They are an absolute accident waiting to happen. Considering as another poster has said, you can buy a decent wooden shelter for a fraction of the price (which is intended for horses!), why would anyone bother.

I wonder of the legal implications of this person sellong them as suitable for stables/shelters, surely something sold has to be suitable for its purpose, I think a buyer would have a very good case when their horse got injured (if they were silly enough to buy one of these in the first place).

Im pretty sure council planning departments wouldnt be happy with them either, as a mobile structure cant be secured to the ground.

I follow people on twitter who write on military horses. You can ask there? #warhorsewednesday. Mass stabling is put up each year at the polo club for Pony Club polo and the tents dont look like that.

We have an old Anderson shelter in our paddock left over from the war. We use it as a shelter for the mini shetlands. Had no other use but it a strong structure

OMFG Nooohhh!! I live in a rather windy spot and that could be just a little interesting flying over into the farmer's field next door...........

Not safe for equines IMO, can just imagine what my bum-itchy mare would make of those two supporting poles in the entrance-way LOL; but it might, and I say "might", be good for say lambing, but having said that I don't know any farmer who'd be daft enough to fork out that sort of cash!
