As title suggests, last night after riding my mare, she was leaking what look like weak milk from her udder!
She's not pregnant, or at least she shouldn't be!
Not overweight, not normally hormonal, but did spend yesterday in a field with a couple of geldings, not in season!
Any Ideas anyone?

My mare does this every summer. Never had any problems with it. Just make sure that they don't get blocked/infected as this would be very painful obviously. Apparently it can be caused by clover. If your mare doesn't seem too bothered by it, I shouldn't worry.

My mare has just done this, it's a bit of a shock at first isn't it! I put it down to the clover as she had just spent the week in a field full of it. I removed her from clover field and she was ok. One teat was a bit bigger than the other. Watch out for swelling and temperature rise.

My mare has done this for the last 10yrs!! She is 29yrs old bless her!! I was worried the 1st time and called the vet had all the test etc all ok. I just make sure i keep her teats clean etc. The vet did say watch out for flystrike so i apply summer fly cream.
