Milk test experts....

Well, got all my testing stuff, including a nice little cup to catch it in....... can't get any milk out of the pony!

I have milked mares before & have got fluid out of both my other mares (they have had foals before) but can only get the tiniest bead of fluid from black pony which doesn't even drip down into the pot!

She is only 321 days, and is hardly bagged up, also the handling of her tests its self is v useful for de-sensitising, am I right in thinking she is miles off, hence no fluid & that it will come?

Yep, she probably hasn't got anything there yet. Leave it for 3 days and then try again. It's ok to handle/clean her udder in the meantime. Initially you may get a blob of really thick syrupy stuff. It's hard to test this as it doesn't mix well with the water. Eventually her udder will fill, the teats will point more outwards and the central crease will become indistinct.
