Milk Thistle

Have been recommended this for horses liver problems. A D & H tub will cost me just over £1 a day to feed.
I know you can get tablets etc for humans from health food stores. Has anyone used these instead, would it work out cheaper? My brain wont compute the amounts !

I have been using Thunderbrooks ground milk thistle seed, as recommended by my holistic vet - £18 for 1kg, 2 bags lasted me 3 months +

Haven't used it in horses but my collie dog has a very trashed liver due to long term pain relief. We started her on milk thistle, this was the only change, and her blood work really improved. There was a clear improvement in her liver function that we can only put down to the milk thistle
