Just had to do a little update on Millie the rescue lurcher - what an absolute sweetheart she is, I'm either very lucky or good at choosing the right one after all these years :) :)

She is happy, engaging, funny, loving and has fitted in like a dream - honestly, for all those who might think that rescue dogs come with a 'history', this little soul was a stray on the streets when she was captured by the dog warden but she has been no problem whatsoever. She comes when she is called, she is fine when we go to work, I couldn't ask for more.

Sorry I have realised as I have been waffling on that there isn't really any 'point' to this thread but I am so happy that Mille, the Greyhound Gang and I chose each other :)

Oh she is lovely, I could talk about my dogs forever, my hound mix especially is the light of my life it makes my heart sing to see her run for joy.
It also makes me feel utterly sick when she disappears into the distance baying but that's another story 😂
 
I bet she's a massive time waster. I'd be snogging her little face constantly! Love the brindle. She looks so chilled and happy.
 
Well, she certainly looks contented doesnt she :) I think a lot of it is to do with knowing what youre doing. You obviously know your own dogs, know what works and doesnt, knew what character of dog would fit in and chose well. There may well be a huge dollop of luck when you take on a dog with an unknown history, but undoubtedly being an experienced and knowledgable owner helps massively. I was so pleased when you took Millie into your heart, she does have an endearing quality to her, that even this gun dog fan would find very hard to resist x
 
Thanks everyone :) She came to a hunter trial with us today and had clearly never seen anything like that in her life, it was all SO exciting :D She is very tired this evening.... (yay! result!) :) :)
