I know I should probably update the original thread but this is easier!
Finally got Tilly, her older BT, to the vet today. She has been having trouble eating. I dcon't really know how long this has been going on for. She also has a sort of kennel cough noise but it's been going on for ages and it is only when she is excited.
Everything takes time in MIL's world so managing the vets didn't happen overnight.
So, her teeth aren't too bad, although could do with a clean. She does, though, have a lump inside her mouth. She is going in next week for a dental, biopsy and chest x rays. She is a dear, jaunty little dog - and I'm really not a terrier fan - so we shall see.
The vet said lumps can well be benign.
MIL was totally chilled about the news - she came with me so she heard it from the vet. Tilly has been given some anti inflammatories to take for 5 days.

Glad you were able to get her to the vet, and fingers crossed the lump is benign.

I wonder if the cough could be indicative of a heart murmur? I remember Rogan presented with this sort of cough/unproductive hack, very similar to kennel cough, when he was worked up and excited when playing or running. He was diagnosed with a grade 2 heart murmur via X-rays and a stethoscope to the chest, and has been medicated for 2 years and doing well, with no advancement of the murmur so far.

Well done for getting MIL to agree to going to vet with dog. Now she knows what vet said (if she remembers it) and you can keep referring back, if necessary.

Well there in lies the problem. I went over to give Tilly her meds today at their feeding time and we were back to square one. Still, MIL and I are getting on very well at the moment and she was fine about it.
