My daughter has just walked the course and tells me its big ,double of corners, nomandy bank ski jump which is definately BE novice level. So now I am terrified told her to withdraw as our club doesn't have team and it means a very early start but she says she wants to have a go.
If he can do it he can do BE novice straight away[only doing prenovice at the moment]

Yes walked it today.
The Open starts off PN but some of it is Novice standard. The double of corners, bank and water is quite tough, but in all honesty the rest of the course is a good PN standard.

The ski jump/bank is always in the Open, I did it on a horse I was only PNing at the time.

Ive got my young horse in the diddy class, and after walking it I wish we were doing the bigger course.
Not sure we would get over the double of corners but Snoop did jump many of those fences that the open are expected to jump on our first xc school 4 wks ago.
The ground is perfect too, so that will give horses confidence also.

We spoke to someone else who had schooled over the fences recently and got a lead to get her horse used to it which seems a bit unfair to me.I think there is a lot of difference between novice and open and it sounds more like an event course rather than hunter trial and its so early in the season.
Still fingers crossed. We find it really difficult to get an open team ,now I know why

Why? the course has been open to all since early Feb to school over.

Many fences that we jumped have been moved and repositioned. I guess its the same as ppl going tomorrow or schooling on monday competing the the BE event in the next couple of weeks.

If your horse is running at PN now, I cant see you having a problem at MK at all. I much prefer MK as it is a proper eventer course rather than a trappy hunter trial. Theres another hunter trial course running tomorrow just down the road from MK but its very trappy and wouldnt like to take a young horse or indeed an eventer aiming for Novice there.

I think your daughter will have a lot of fun, plus its great prep for her if shes thinking of going Novice later in the season.

Isnt the final at Off Churchbury? if so thats a great eventer course.

Please wish your Daughter Good Luck
