*COURSE INSPECTION - WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY AM AND A DECISION WILL BE MADE THEN REGARDING GROUND CONDITIONS - PLEASE CHECK THIS SITE ON FRIDAY TO KEEP INFORMED REGARDING ANY CANCELLATION *

Has there been alot of rain there? its helishly dark here atm, but we've not had any rain all day.

Don't know if it's on the way up but here in Bristol it is hammering it down (our sky has lost its signal it's that bad!) and thunder and lightning

Well I spoke to them today regarding the BYEH and she told me to ring on Thurs to see if I can get mine and didn't mention the ground at all.

I'm about half an hour's drive away and we've actually had sun most of the day but the heavens opened here about ten minutes ago - thunder, lightning and buckets of rain. Up until now the ground has been fine - I'd be really surprised if it's that wet - but I'm not sure when the current rain is going to stop! Fingers crossed

I'll be gutted if they do cancel, its my first run this season (just got back off honeymoon and was banned from any form of jumping before the wedding!!). Apparently they ran the 3DE in really wet weather so whether the course has taken a hammering from that I'm not sure?? I live about 20mins away and its been lovely today with a very ground drying breeze but I think its been raining a lot at night and we've just had a big storm so I suppose large volumes of water falling quickly aint so good??!!!

Am about an hour away from MKEC and we've had no end of rain in the past couple of days - we'd be fine if we had webbed feet at the moment!!!! So its no suprise that they are thinking about the ground

I live in MK and a lot of people have been talking about a severe weather warning for Wednesday. Apparently it's likely that there will be a lot of floods.

My yard is not far from MKEC, about 10 mins and we have had some serious amounts of rain. This evening we had a huge storm so i think they will have been really hit as they would have been right in the path of the storm and the storms we have been having on and off for the past week.

yes, they did and it was awful although the XC course held up well.

Fingers crossed for the MK drainage!!

We are quite close to there too - our fields were really wet yesterday morning but dried up loads during the day. Weren't bad at all last night.

Of course then we had that big storm last night....

Not raining at the moment (not in MK town anyway).

We were up there at the weekend. The ground on the course itself has held up pretty well so far, although there is water in a lot of the ditches - that gave my lad a surprise! Some surface water but ground underneath seemed fine. But it has rained a fair bit since then!
I imagine it is the lorry park etc that is the problem, we were lucky as we got in/out ok, but had a river flowing infront of our stables, and it is getting very boggy in gateways etc.
