Stumbled across this map of wild animals being legally kept as pets today - had no idea wild animal ownership was this widespread. Savannah cats I somewhat can understand, and some of the data points look like animals in zoos and farms, but others have dumfounded me. What good reason is there for people owning elephants in Carmarthenshire or capuchin monkeys in Milton Keynes?
There's a place that runs alongside the M6 and A5 up in Cannock, Staffs that has two lions and three tigers and its next door to a horse abbatoir. Nice. ☹

Just had another look and was pretty stunned at the West Oxfordshire quota! We are on the border. I’m assuming this covers the Cotswold Wildlife park, either that or we have some major collectors in the area.
Sadly there are king cobras closer than Stroud. Wonder how far they can travel escaped…..
