Do you sometimes find that your subconscious mind is 'helping' you with your riding...?
when you would really rather it didn't?

Typical examples would include:
> a little voice saying 'I can't do this'
> a bigger voice saying 'he won't do this'
> lack of conviction that your horse will respond to your aids
> your legs say 'go', but your hands say 'whoa'
> 'gripping up' when your horse is tense or unsure
> holding your breath to 'help' you concentrate

Interestingly - of the blog posts I've published - the one which has 'struck a chord' with more people than any other is the one titled 'Am I a Wimp?'
which explores the origins, and validity, of self-doubt in riding...

FYI - I have discovered that there is a free 10 day on-line course about to start next week (available from Tuesday 5th February GMT)

which teaches a simple, easy to learn, yet very effective method of using
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) - combined with two other powerful techniques -
designed to help you clear 'mental blocks' and regain control of some of your subconscious messages...

although the course covers general topics,
I found that much of the training 'naturally translated' into areas where it helped address those riding issues associated with the subconscious mind...
I also found the technique immensely relaxing...

>>Check it out Here<< - it is totally free of charge, and may just be what you are looking for to move your riding on to the next stage...
