I am very interested to see that Miners Frolic is running at Boekolo in his 3rd 3* this year.

My theory is Tina is going all out for the Olympics place that is up for grabs and that by getting another brilliant result at 3* and then maybe running an early 4* next year could leap herself into the shortlist??

Opinions?

thats exactly right, she wants more mileage as the horse is feeling strong and up for it, as for an olympic place she'd need to have a good base behind a 4 star run.

Now that they are all short format, does a CCI take any more out of the horse than a normal advanced one day? I've noticed that a lot of horse this year have done 3 3DE's.

I spoke to Tina at Gatcombe and she isn't aiming for the Olympics next year, because she feels regardless of how well he does between now and then he won't be ready to experience the climate and flying time etc.

Indeed, I doubt the selectors would want to take a horse that is only ten and has no former team experience - they should still be up for it come London.

Have to agree with the short format it is not too much to be doing 3 at that level in a season.

the horse has very low milage due to tina having babies and though i dont often disagree with lifelemons Tina is definately going for team selection. She more or less said so at blenheim press conference, she went to boekolo to give it more experience and will no doubt do badders in the spring. another top 3 place and they wont be able to ignore it, tina has plenty team experience to waggon horse round in any contest and selectors took plenty inexperience to pratoni.....
