He is adorable. I don't have any advice I'm afraid. But strangely my 4yo Haflinger clings to my 10yo Newfie like they were mother and daughter, I think she was only taken away from her mother about 6 months before we got her!

Yes how odd! were in cyberspace was that?! it would be a shame to have to sell him cause she's too attached!

Really thats interesting, he was newly weaned from his mum, he's only 5 months, but when she saw him she went md over him after sniffing my hands! I've never came across this!

How long have you had her? Has she ever had a foal? My shettie goes mad when she sees little black shettie foals at shows. We've had her since she was 18 months and she was the only foal at the stud at the time so not sure why she does this. She does sometimes whicker to adult black shetlands too, presume she thinks it's her mum. Bless her!

If he's newly weaned he will attach himself to anything he can bless him. Are they going to stay in the same stable??? Personally i wouldnt leave them in together its only asking for trouble, ( sorry if thats not how it is to be

I got Inky newly weaned and he went out with a section b gelding. We just kept bringing them in for an hour at a time without the other and they soon got used to it. You will always get seperation anxiety with two horses that go out together alone TBH.

Inky and Ty go out alone, although if they are seperated they do whinny alot for the first ten mins then they are ok. This is usually when i go to shows and leave Ty behind but he has got horses in the field next door so i think that helps. Are there any other horses on the yard that could also go out with them?

Edited to say he is VERY cute!!

I've had her 6 months and shes only turned 5 and never had a foal! Really thats odd maybe its an imprint however they were treated as foals, shes not far out of babyhood herself!

No they wont be stabled together its just i wanted to put him there so let her in for the pics! I took her away today and she whinneyed but soon calmed down so im hoping as there still new to each other it'l wear off when they know they'll see each other after awhile apart?

Oh and the yard at my OH is private just their own horses, but none in at the mo for breaking, and the others are too expensive to go out with her even if she has a good nature. But they do foal mares for people and i did see her whinneying to the new borns, maybe just an affectionate horse!!!
