Knew I should never have got OH into this riding lark ... we both went to a mini Hunter Trial today and OH is now exceedingly gleeful as he beat me!
He didn't get placed but did a great round in lovely rhythm (on Marco - the big chestnut with white blaze in my sig), whereas my horse (Brooklyn - bay in my sig) took exception to the smallest teeny tiny fence on the course (think because it was facing away from the collecting ring which Mr Nappy was trying to get back to) & we had a couple of run outs.
Ah well.
To be honest I'm soooo pleased for him as Marco is very inexperienced & a bit of a nervous nellie (in the body of a 17hh hunter
) and generally runs away from new fences, so to get him round a course is a huge achievement. This time last year we thought he'd never be anything but a hack if we were lucky - he was very lame from bone spavin & related problems - but he has come through it all really well and this year we have started to be able to have fun with him.
Sorry for the ramble - hopefully will be able to post link to pro pics in day or so - another disadvantage of having a riding OH is that you never get photos of each other!
