Super proud post!
My little girl has in the past couple of weeks moved into a more advanced lesson with much older kids! She is the youngest by 4 yrs or so & couple of teenage kids on the lesson also..

So there is a show coming up in couple mths & they started learning their dressage test today ..
She worked her little socks off despite one episode of being dumped by one Ponio - off she tumbled & got straight back up again. . .

She really for 6yrs old has so much guts & determination to do well & tried her hardest to ride into her corners & ask for canter in the correct place - I was so so so impressed & her instructor was to - she listens so so well & is really shaping up to being such a nice young rider... She has kind hands & is always the first to pat the pony when they have done a good job...

She was well able today to prove WHY she is capable of riding with much older children

Here are some pictures - no mad CC please she is 6yrs old:D

Straight down the centre line..

She looks so determined and sure of what she wants, great photos and rightly a very proud mummy. Wish my son had been so enthusiastic but now at the age of 14 he thinks horses are a waste of space and to much like hard work!!

Oh and thanks for all the lovely comments:) she always feels she needs to work hard to keep up with the bigger kids and its paying off. Her instructor doesn't sugar coat things which helps as she is now a tough little cookie! Need to start saving for a 128 jumping pony - she's already jumping over 2 feet!

On the black cob she looks sooo small and cute.. Like a flea on a dogs back :D

Well done to your mini me OP. Maybe she'll be in the 2028 Olympics when she's 21

LOL she has her own pony who is going through some reschooling @ the moment, unfortunatly she is just a bit too much off the lead rein @ the moment .. typical welshie lol!!! All the work she is putting in on other ponies will really pay off... she just needs her legs to be a bit longer & arms a bit stronger:D

Very well done, she is doing a great job! (You mean you haven't got her a pony already!?:p)

She does, but well able to cope with the bigger Ponies! she doesn't put up with any C***:D re Olympics, who knows...she has the drive & determination ! :D

Lovely pics of a confident and determined young lady :) I think the cold and often damp weather sorts out the true horsey youngsters as much as the cheeky ponios! (My daughter rides in all weathers, but son only wants a quiet plod round when it's sunny :p )

Thank you :) oh she is far from a " Fair weather rider" - she will happily ride in wind, snow, pelting rain..... toughens them up, lol!
As for cheeky ponio that dumped her today, she just bounces & gets back on. She has fallen off that particular pony many times & never a tear.

She's so sweet! You can see the look of concentration on her face and her and the pony are very cute together!

May I mention one thing and feel free to ignore her...it might be a good idea to get her a pair of safety stirrups. I don't know what they are called but the kind with the plastic cage in front of the toes so that the foot can never go too far into the stirrup. Children are still working on their balance and have a tendency to put their foot too far in the stirrup (you can see it clearly in the photos) which can then become extremely dangerous when they fall off.

Hope you don't mind the suggestion!
