mini shetland feral foal

well I am going to take on a mini Shetland foal for a companion ,any tips about owning a littlies ?? he is just been weaned and lived all of its life in a big field with a little human handleing but very friendly and willing ,he was born in may

keep him stabled to start with and get a foal slip on him asap.lots ands lots of gentle but firm handling required, and help from someone who has experiance of such feral ponies is invaluable.

Do not treat him like a little pet, treat him like a big horse and expect him to behave.

Another vote for No Fear,No Force; mine was very similar,friendly but basically unhandled (mini Shettie too!)Took it very gently getting foal slip on & teaching him to lead,pick up feet etc-he's a very laid back little chap,whinnies madly when he sees us & comes running. Have fun,they're gorgeous
