Took my cob round a sj course yesterday, first time out at a sj comp. Really pleased with her. No stopping - we had a few down which i hold my hands up to! we did a clear round and 2 classes, kept them small - 2ft and 2ft 3 - there where a few spreads in the 2ft3 making them meatier than what we jump at home. She was much better over the wider fences and picked her feet up, found the smaller jumps more difficult as she just kinds trotted over them knocking them everywhere :o
We managed 5th place in the 2ft3 class we didn't rush the time part just concentrated on a good canter and correct strides. She fell on the correct lead everytime.
So pleased with her :)
I think we need a few lessons as i knew it was my doing as she was waiting for me to tell her when to take off and i got in too deep on some and a bit fast causing flat jumping. Am not very experienced with jumping, i really prefer flatwork but i do enjoy it and want to improve and she seems to love it :)
Have a lovely pic on order :) if anyone cares to take a look here are the links.....i have ordered the one below - when we get it right she makes a good shape over the fences:

What a gorgeous cob! Adore the perky ears and eager face, what a fantastic start to your jumping comps. As you say, a superb bascule in that first photo - looks nice and confident. Bet you're walking on air today, you should be! How old is she?

Thank you :)

She's 5 and started jumping approx 8 weeks ago properly. Yes she is confident and very honest, just very green.
Hoping to achieve a picture like the first in every jump we do!

What a small world, I was there too doing the same classes as you, it was also my first jumping show :)

Great piccys, she looks like she has a great jump!

Really?! Did you spot us?!
Kings is about an hour from us first time we have been there. Its a great venue :)

Yes I saw you, I remember your purple top lol :D (obviously didn't know it was you though till I saw the post - was reading it thinking that sounds just like my day at kings and then I saw the link to the photographer and realised you were there too!)

It's a lovely venue isn't it, I've been there helping other people quite a bit so it's great to finally be able to compete there myself, it's such a relaxed, laid back place! There's usually something on most weeks.

Where had you come from? Do you ever go to Tack farm?
