We are hopefully taking our companion mini Shetland out to his first show next Sunday and I would be greatfull of any advice/tips etc.

What is best for me to wear? I'll have my usual show stuff from SJ first (not the Shetland!;) ) but can amend this to suit! Would trousers be better than jodhs/boots?

What about his turn out? His mane is pretty wild and sits on both sides? I presume leave his beard/feather intact? He has a little bridle and has been bitted.

Any help much appreciated!:)

A hacking jacket with navy or brown trousers would be best if you have them. Some people wear cream coloured trousers. It depends on the colour of the pony as some people like their legs to be a contratsing colour to the ponys' legs. The pony should be untrimmed although you can tidy the beard a bit. Leave the feathers and mane/tail. many shetlands manes sit both sides- theres not enough room for it to sit on one side of the neck! The more hair the better.

Good luck:)
