miniatures rug help please

the mini shetland i have came with 2 rugs. A weatherbeeta foal turnout that is 3ft9 and on the small side.

However she has a requisite stable rug that is 3ft6 and fits fine! She is about 32" tall.

I had ordered one of the 4horse wee pony rugs in a 4ft (thinking of the T/O rug) and it drowns her. Ive measured her and she seems to be coming out at 3ft6 right enough. So are the foal rugs cut really small:confused:
 
I have a 4'3 weatherbeeta foal rug that came with my little lad, and it is too small. He does wear a 4'3, and all other makes in that size are fine. I do think the foal rugs are cut differently.
 
Ive never found a foal rug that fits my minis!!! For a 32" your probably talking 3ft6". I have two minis one is 31" but stocky and the other is 32.5" and lighter and both take 3ft6. However sometimes the stockier one takes 3ft9 if he's hairy.

Have you ordered the IV horse rug, the purple one? I have those and at the moment they are both in 3ft9. only becasue they are hairy ( yes i know minis can live out with no rugs before anyone starts but i have my reasons! )

However my stallion will be cliped over summer for showing and will revert back to 3ft6 once he's been exercised and lost some weight.

How hairy is your mini and how stocky? pics please!!!
 
My mini Shettie is 33 inches, she has a 3ft9 Masta lightweight foal turnout that fits her. Requisite rugs fit her but I have always found them to be on the big side, she is a 3ft6 in a Requisite but 3ft9 in anything else.
 
thanks guys - yes its the purple iv horse, hmm, really not if i should order the 3ft 6 or 3ft 9 then. She is rubbed across her bum from the wb foal T/O rug. Im just uploading a wee vid of her,she got her first turnout today after living in 24/7:D She is only with me on loan but if she settles and gets on ok with my others then I'll buy her:cool: Hence why she is also rugged as she has been until now and isnt mine at the mo ;)

are these fleeces any good? any other recommendations?

thank you - hmmm, see the 4ft is HUGE on her, but its the standard pony range rather than the 'minis' ones, so will that make a difference as well?

Aw she's gorgeous! I find cuddly ponies rugs a good fit and true to size. They dont slip either. I seem to think you can't get them anymore though, been hunting for another one and can't find any.
 
The difference between a normal 4ft rug and a mini 4ft rug is mainly the neck area. Minis have much smaller necks and the mini rugs take this into consideration. Your mini is very cute!!!!

Here are some pics of mine in a 3ft 9 rug. I think the only difference you will find betwen a 3ft 6 and a 3ft 9 rug would be the length and NOT the neck area. So if your not sure maybe go for a 3ft9 then if its too big it may hang off her bum a little?

thank you so much :D your 2 look very cosy:) will have a look at that site. Ive gone with the 3ft9 so fingers crossed. I noticed yours have shoulder darts in the pics. Im sure the wee pony one I ordered doesnt but looks like the same rug.
 
well the 3f9 arrived and am no further forward! Arrgh! I didnt get the combo like yours, just the standard neck and it seems that when you go down to 3ft9 the pattern and cut of the rug changes. The front only has 1 fastening which is s plastic clip, there are no shoulder darts and they are much tighter round the neck - it doesnt fit:o:(

Have spent ages on the phone to the shop and they are now sending out a rhino wug for her to try - bloomin pony is going to end up with a more expensive and posh rug than my big girl has, she will be most jealous!
