BE fixtures round me are like buses so I'm wondering if this is feasible-tell me no if you think it sounds like abuse! Entered for Intro at Keysoe on the Sunday. Would contemplating doing either the Intro or the PN on Tues or Weds be an absolute no-no?

Should be ok doing intro on the Wednesday if the going is good - wouldn't be so keen to do it on the Tuesday, but then as long as your horse is fit enough an intro shouldn't take too much out of him.

I like to allow 10 days but I know this can be difficult. It would depend on age and how hard you run. The horse would not have recovered from any injury and even a slight one that you may not notice would be aggrevated by another run.Personally I wouldn't event that soon

For me it is a little too soon, but as you say, events are few and far between, then all of a sudden you get them all at once! I would do Intro, as long as horse finishes the first one fine and recovers well. Good Luck

No problem particularly if you are travelling a great distance and the going is ok. Actually I think it does them good at the lower levels to do a few quite close together.

No problem, go for it!! BUT depending on the age of the horse?? if a 5yr old then i'd say no, but older then i'd say yes!!
One of mine about a month ago did 3 events in 8 days.. it did a PN on Fri, a PN on Tues, and another PN on Sat.. It's a bit of a lump of a horse and by the end of that it was really operating.. It did then have some easy time after that, but i think it did it the world of good...

Just seen on bdwp that I could only do PN on the Tues and Intro with Monday dressage, so definitely won't be going. Thanks to all for advice though. Lets just hope we make our trip to Keysoe a good 'un! Could be our last for the season : (

Im entered for PN on the saturday and will be running on the tuesday in another PN.
Thats it for my season tho.
Im hoping 3 events in quick succession will do him a lot of good. Plus neither are a great distance away.
We have an intro the week before the two PNs.

I know in my day[ok I'm old] we started at novice and there was no intro and prenovice but we were always taught it takes 4 days for a horse to recover. Please don't take this the wrong way but I am concerned that some of you are competing so often. You really can't tell if there is a slight injury unless you have a scan, also I don't know how you afford it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
This post is meant as a helpful warning ,with 35 years of experience of eventing it is very easy to cause damage by running on tired legs, take care

TBH it would depend on the reason for doing it? If the horse need some reinforcing/cosolidation of things then as a one off it wouldnt be too bad, but I wouldnt do it on a regular basis. It also depends on how fit your horse is, my TB for example could run in intro's every day of the week without any adverse effect, but my Irish mare needs 3 or 4 days light work to recover.
But then some people get stressed about riding their horses more than once a day!

I completely see your point carthorse but nowadways the ground is supposedly better and this year has been a complete wash out where these horses have had far less runs than usual. I spose too that we are near the end of the season so they are due a break anyway. I think at intro or pre novice level it would be fine - as long as the first run was okay.

At end of June I ran my horse twice in 4 days and he went better and better being place 3rd both times (one was RC areas and other BE). It was supposed to be 3 events in 8 days but last one was cancelled. My horse then had July and August off as I refuse to run on hard ground.
The times for intro and PN are generous so you do not need to hammer round anyway.
