We've had five sheep in our paddock for a couple of weeks, and Bear The Border is now their self-appointed body guard. ;):D

Here's lookin' at you, sheep!

OK! If I guard the lot of 'em, I know I'll have something nice to eat in November!

Yes, they are destined for the freezer, so I'm trying desperately not to get too sentimental about them......Gaaaahhhhhh!!

That dog is definitley looking after his future interests. Smart cookie!! Husband wanted us to have sheep to graze our fields more level. I told him fine but he would never eat lamb again as I would get too attached. We didn't get the sheep!! :D

very cute! We have a pen of hand reared lambs at the yard at the moment, Stan thinks they are The Best Thing Ever and wants them to be his new best friends. He licks them, rolls around on the floor at their feet and tries to get them to chase him (which, obviously, they can't because they're in the pen...and he is not!). It must be the border terrier in him!

What breed are sheep? Don't look the meathead, but bet thet will eat well!

They are Camaroon sheep. I'd never heard of this breed before our neighbour suggested getting them, but they are popular around here. I was told by another neighbour that the meat has a distinctive flavour, but he didn't elaborate on that.

Looks like Bear might be in for a bit of a feast come November! ;);):D

Awwww Bear is soooo cute!:D

The farm I live on is a sheep farm and the lambing sheds are right behind my cottage and at lambing time they are bloody noisy!:eek::rolleyes:

I lost Sweep one day and found him in the pen with the bottle fed lambs sitting patiently under the heat lamp waiting for me to come back for him:D:D

When you live on a sheep farm you quickly lose any sentimentality for them but they do fill the freezer well:):D
