Mischief cob and acorns

Just moved my 2yr cob back for the winter in our field, sectioned off a nice part for them today and was horrified to see her crunching and enjoying acorns!!! none of the others touched them but she was clearly loving them. Sectioned off the tree as much as poss and the acorns.
Will she be okay? think she had about 6 in total.

On the other hand she had a 6ft bramble stuck in her tail complete with blackberrys attached :S had to cut it out!
Little minx been back 5 mins and shes already getting herself into mischief. Saw her mugging people as they walked past the gate!

I would think she'll be ok with 6 but they are poisonous to horses so you really need to make sure that she can't get to them.

Without wishing to frighten you, many years ago, a neighbour lost 4 of his horses in the space of a week after they gorged on acorns.

I had same problem with my mare , everytime she was put in a field with acorns shed gorge on them and end up with very bad colic... we nearly lost her on one occassion... id definatley section the tree off or move her to another field, otherwise you may end up with a hefty vet bill and a very poorly girlie....x

Have sectioned it off and opened up a bigger part of the field so theres plenty of grass. Will be acorn collecting on a daily basis too from tomorrow!
