If she doesnt top herself, Im sure she will let you know herself.

Just had a txt.... total rider error, shes not happy

Sh*t!!!!
They were a bit mean to not let her runh xc but then I suppose it would be a bit pointless as wouldnt cout as qualification.

Bet she's fuming, but it can happen to anyone (poor girl at Kentucky....)

I mentioned the kentucky lady, but i think it didnt help.

I'd kill myself too, I missed out a fence in an intro and I was fuming so can only imagine doing it in a **!!

She does ride beautifully!

I missed a fence at our first novice last year, even more sickening after jumping the whole course ruddy clear

she wont do it again.

What a shame an easy mistake but certainly the wrong event to do it as that was her qualification for a 2* 3 day.

I really feel for her.

SJ - Don't know which CCI she was aiming for but is Longleat too late? Or Sansaw?

Sorry, total thread hijack - has anyone else seen the winning margin Chloe Newton had in Int section E?!

And the lack of show-jumping clears in the OIU21 was noticable too....

She was aiming for Tattersalls, entries close Thursday though I think, such a huge pity for her
frown.gif
Must be awful for something simple as that to ruin your qualifications

hi everyone.. yes words can not describe how i'm feeling right now!! made worse by the fact that mum and dad are actually being pretty understanding, dad esp. whom i was expecting to throw me out the house never to be seen again.. i guess they know how crap i'm feeling right now
frown.gif

I felt the dressage work had payed off, but obviously the judges didn't think so.. i got a 69.3.. we fluffed up the simple changes both times, as Ernie came back to walk fine, but then got all funny going back into canter again.. however, i watched one test which i thought was dreadfull, and they got a 67.something, so i thought i'd atleast get better than them.. i guess my test was a bit lacking in anything/a bit too steady and that must be what i got marked down for
frown.gif
ie no impulssion (sp?)

Oh well, a day best forgotten i guess
frown.gif

will put top hat and tails pics up in a min

as for what i'm aiming for now.. i don't really know.. but i've asked Chepstow if they'll take a late entry for the CCI* which they will, but i have to ring BE first, as Ernie is over qualified, so will prob. end up running HC.

the only comfort I can give is that everyone does it at some point and you will prob never do it again or at least no time soon. You only have to look at Rolex to see a prime example that even the top pro's jump the wrong course sometimes!

Looking forward to seeing the pics and at least you were happier with the dressage now just to bribe the judges
wink.gif

I know it isn't any consolation to say most people make a similar mistake, but it's true.
CCj managed to qualify for some Sj Champs a while back and on the final day the actual day of the three that counted she missed a jump and got eliminated..
frown.gif

Her Dad went one better when being last to go in a Newcomer's jump off was well up on the clock, clear and as he aimed at the last fence looked gleefully at the clock above the jump to see what time he had won the class in...Only to see he had jumped number 1 backwards instead of the last fence...
So I reckon missing fences in our family may be inherited!
Did you get a vid of the dressage, as that is the best way to see if the marks were justified , and at least from what the watchers said, your Sj round was an excellent one up to that point!
Sad you couldn't run XC, I'm surprised that happened, after all you could have jumped the fence at the end if they'd let you...
Tomorrow as they say is another day, put it behind you, I reckon you will never ever make a mistake like that again, so try to focus on whatever event is next..
As for your parents' I bet they felt awful for you as they would realise how much it meant to you.
Am off to find that pic..

God I know exactly how you are feeling have done it not just once but many times- drove all the way up to bishop burtons in York once for the int. and missed the last fence SJ after going clear
crazy.gif
there is nothing that anyone can do or say to make you feel any better except that when you look back on this in a few years time it will be forgotten about and def. insignificant. Have every faith in that you and ernie are going to do v well together, what happened today just means that the success is going to happen just a little bit later now rather than sooner!
