I started my pony on the panacur five day wormer (sorry, it's actual name escapes me now) on sunday evening, but head was in a bit of a spin last night after hearing some bad news and so forgot to give the second dose last night.
I remembered lunchtime today and so gave it then, but when would you suggest giving the next (third) dose?
tonight (usually go out to give a haynet before I go to bed), or tomorrow?

not sure what to do for the best, or if it matters?

Just out of interest I gave my horse this when he had suspected pin worm and while back and his itching did stop. But how are you measuring each dosage? I just guessed how much to give my horse and split it into five 'portions' but on day five found I had got more left over than I had given on days 1-4 so I wasn't very accurate!! The pinworm did clear up (if that's what it was). There was no effective way of dividing it into five, so how are you dividing the liquid into five?

Panacur Guard usually comes with a measure. If not, then either use a calibrated scoop from a supplement tub, or something else that you know the capacity of. You can buy measuring scoops (handy to have) in most supermarkets, generally to be found wherever cake tins, etc. are located.

Thats how resistance to wormers starts lol theres all sorts of ways of measuring an old syringe is good always go over rather than under panacur will not cause issues if overdosing. We use the cattle panacur with dosing gun which works really well.

there doesn't seem to be a measure with it (or not one that I've noticed anyway), but I've been using a calpol syringe! bit tedious as it's only for 5ml and am struggling now i'm getting to the bottom of the bottle but it was all I could find. might have to try the calibrated washing powder scoop method instead, sounds like a much better idea!

Call the care line of the manufacturer - they will have the data to advise how best to dose with consideration to the missed day. You won't 'poison' the horse but would be worth trying to avoid resistance complications.

I've just finished giving my lot this. I looked the data sheet for the medication up online and worked out each horses dose from that. They were about 40ml each per day.

For the treatment and control of migrating and tissue larval stages of large strongyles, encysted mucosal 3rd and 4th stage small strongyle larvae and encysted inhibited 3rd stage small strongyle larvae in the mucosa administer 5ml of the product per 65 kg bodyweight daily for 5 days.

So, 525kg horse/65kg x 5ml =40.38ml/day.

Mine came with a syringe that said Panucur on the side and was designed for use with the liquid. They used to supply a measuring cup with it.
