Well I schooled Missie last night for the first time since she was diagnosed with bone spavin... and she was sound!! In the arena too, when previously she'd only been sound when hacking straight lines
Not only that, but we also managed a fairly decent canter in both directions, quite an achievement when in December she was so tense and sore that we couldn't even manage half a circle in right canter without her shooting off, falling in horrendously and changing legs behind (or a combination of all three....!)
So I'm really chuffed today. I feel like we're finally on the road to recovery
Hopefully after a lazy summer of turn out, hacking and some light schooling, followed by a nice long holiday while I'm too pregnant to ride
she will be a different horse next year
