Missing dog need to replace to feel safe again

Our german Shepard passed away last month after 12 years of loyal service my son is devastated we only now feel ready to replace and feel it necessary to have a dog as they alert you when someone around and we do feel safer with a dog about the place anyone know of any long haired pls get in touch

I know how you feel ,we lost our little Whirrier to cancer after 10 years of loyalty and fun, we got a new longdog 3 months after as there was something missing in our lives, a large gap infact.
There are quite a few GSDs that need rehoming, have you tried all the usual rescue sites?

Definitely worth having a look at the gsd rescue link above, there are some lovely dogs on there looking for homes, quite a few long coats too. I home check in the Shropshire/S Cheshire area so maybe a bit far from you, but they cover all areas, and more recently have become more flexible about homes. At one time I got very frustrated because they were far too fussy imho.
