Scott and Flynn went missing from their home in Ratlinghope, Shropshire on Christmas Eve. Noone knows if they escaped or were taken. They are Border Collies (agility dogs) and the owners are distraught. The dogs are on DogLost refs: 21230 and 21231 owners telephone number (from his website) 01588650638.

Please please look out for them on your travels and hacks - even if they were taken they could have been dumped somewhere some distance away.

Thanks

Do you know the owners? You may suggest to them they contact the police, or try and get any way to have the local travellers camps searched. The Shropshire / Cheshire area from Shrewsbury up to Chester is a hotbed for dog thieves, many of them ending up on the ferry to Ireland in a flash. I hope they turn up and just wandered off but there have been a spate of dog thefts and border collies, spaniels, and beagles are popular targets, even being taken from outside secure kennel areas.

The ferry to Ireland? Dogs? Really?! When the rescues here are sending dogs to England

There are enough shysters, scammers and puppy farmers here already without more dogs coming in to be sold on by them

harkback - is it true a lot of carriers won't let dogs cabinside anymore, and could it make this sort of thing easier?
Also could you PM me if you have any first hand experience of this sort of thing because it could do with being highlighted.

Sorry for hijack OP.

May be totally unconnected but there was a piece in the Shropshire Star tonight about the A5 being temporarily shut at Emstrey island due to a stray dog on the road. Police tried to catch dog but failed, last seen heading across fields

Have the owners contacted the Star and asked them toput a piece in paper, they are usually quite good about things like that.

Thanks MM - I have passed the info on - there are a lot of people involved now but no news

These 2 are very special collies - I wonder if they were actually targetted

So sad - I have had my fingers crossed all day hoping Lee has found Scott and Flynn

Can't believe dogs get ferried over to Ireland - when as you say there are rescues over here that spend a lot of time and money saving dogs from Ireland and bringing them over here

I could not think of anything worse than my dogs disappearing/being taken

Really hope they are found soon

Now found - thanks everyone

Sounds like someone took them in but didn't let the authorities know!

What a relief that they have been found. Happy ending.
