Hi everyone,

I've been registered a while, but never posted. My 5 month old miniature dachshund puppy went missing today in King's Lynn after being chased by 2 border collies when out for a walk with my friend :(.

He's on DogLost, and I have spoken to dog warden, local vets, kennels etc. Microchip company also aware.

I'm totally gutted :(, and would be so gratful if anyone in the area who happens to come across a 5mnth old long haired miniature dachshund puppy, male, colour red, with a few flecks of white on his nose, and answers to the name Pippin could get in touch.

Thanks

Lucy

Poor you! I'd be putting posters up in all local shops tomorrow, maybe one in the local paper too?
Also get it circulating on FB and ask people to share x

Brilliant news, OP it might be an idea to put some bells on your dogs collar then youve always got some idea where they are going. We do this with our little dog because if she goes in the hedge I always know where she is.

Thank you all for your messages, and thank you Dobiegirl thats a great idea! He was found this morning by a man walking his golden retriever, in the woods Pippin went missing in. He seems to have spent the night in the undergrowth, but is absolutely fine, happy and healthy. So grateful to everyone who helped find him!

Fantastic news! Mini dachshies seem to have selective deafness when they don't want to come back don't they? I have a bell on the collar of mine, cos she seems to have developed the skill of standing absolutely still when I call her, but the bell does give her away! P@H sell them in the cat section!

I'm definitely going to get a bell! He does seem have have selective hearing at times! So glad to have him back though, he was really scared when he was chased. Seems to be back to his normal self though!

Fantastic news and good to know he's coped OK with his ordeal. A bell is an excellent idea. I bought some from eBay, they are Falconer's bells and really do help you hear where your dog is wandering and sniffing around. Any chance you could eventually meet up with the owner of the 2 BC's again, keeping Pippin on a lead of course.? Just thinking it might be a good idea to desensitise/socialize him to them, to avoid something similar happening in the future...

Thanks Superhot. Unfotunately I don't think we'll be able to socialise him with the BCs again. Their owner just watched the BCs chase him, and didn't try to call them back, even though he was crying and obviously distressed. She didn't try and help look for him, even though they'd chased him a long way, and just left... We're going to take him to a puppy socialisation class. He's got such a nice temprament, and is so good meeting new dogs, I hope he'll get back to that.

Oh that's just awful. Didn't she say anything to you at all? I'd be very tempted to report her to your local dog warden under those circumstances. Puppy classes is a great idea, let the trainer know what's happened so she can make sure Pippin isn't put under any stressful (to him) situations.
I wonder if any other dog walkers know of the lady with the Collies and if they know of any problems with her dogs???

Superhot- she just walked off without saying a word. Not nice... No one who helped look for him recognised her, as far as I know, and some were regular walkers there. I hope similar problems haven't happened.
