Missing molars in young horse

Missing in what way? Born without them? Baby caps come off but adult teeth not erupted? Has he had Xrays to see if they are still under his gum?

Let us know how you get on with the xrays. My mare had xrays in Oct 2012 as a three year old which showed her third adult teeth trying to erupt into second adult teeth under the gum. Vet didnt know whether they would be able to erupt or not. Her caps were removed off third teeth and then unbelieveably the third teeth turned and erupted upwards, have xrays taken five months later in March when the teeth were up through gum, straight but not quite up enough to be in wear. They were in wear when next xrays taken in the August.
