missing things

The yard i am on has always been a really good yard and everyone has always got on, weve just always had one problem which is someone taking things. This month i have used 28 bales of hay for two horses one of which is only 2 so doesnt eat all that much. (13.3hh), Has anyone else had problems with there things going missing and if yes what did you do about it? yard owner knows the situation but cant do anything untill person is caught doing it. xx

No, seriously xD Talk to the YO. Do you know what time the things go missing? Maybe ask some others on the yard to help set up a watch with you? And make sure all of your tack and rugs are tagged. It's hard with feed going missing though.
 
well, alot of things go missing and are never to be seen again which is quite annoying when you buy them and they get stolen, i have got a shed with a lock on which i keep rugs tack ect in, so its just my hay and straw, it difficuilt as everyones is in the same barn, i have spoken to yard owner but still says nothing can be done, i have an idea of who it could be butfor obvious reasons cant go around accusing people of taken things. I am thinking about locking my hay away in the shed and see if this helps xx
 
I have had quite a few bit's go missing (including 1 pair of £220 boots and some spurs) and the most recent thing, (well it wasn't nicked butit was used without permission!) somebody used my measuring saff and broke it.
I did try and sort it out and see if anything could be done but I might as well have gone and repeatedly hit my head on a brick wall, it would have achieved the same thing, nothing!
I'm now waiting for a new metal tack trunk to be built and anything that is ofany value or something hat I really need that I can fit in there will go in there!
 
Suggest to the person you think it is that you are thinking of putting cctv up for a while to find out who it is... That should stop them

Food colouring is a very good idea, Well yard owner thinking of getting cctv anyway as there where a few fences cut down during the night in summer xx
 
there things goin missin at are yard my feeds goin down peoples hay forks spades we think we have a idea on who it is but cant prove it till we catch them.
