I haven't posted in a while so here's an update for you!

Missy is getting a lot friendlier! She now whinnies at us when we go to see her and has cantered down to us twice :biggrin3: . She also lets me stroke her whole face (when I have food or a likit) and she will allow me to stand or sit next to her without moving away!

FO has told me stables may be done this weekend but if not DEFINITELY by next weekend and the vet will be coming out a week later :)

OH and she doesn't mind pink umbrellas or dogs :biggrin3:

And one from a few weeks back:

:biggrin3:

(No idea how to post actual photo's)

Oh she looks like a sweetie. I've not had internet for a while so don't know the background. (Off to have a search now)
Good luck with her :)

Thanks for the replies :)
It's possible as her passport says she was covered in April this year by a traditional cob! Her belly shape is indicating there's a fairly good chance she is but I am having the vet out to check her as need to know for definite. Does anybody know how I can post photo's and not links? I have some from today and the links look messy :)

I would say there was little doubt she is in foal and if so you need to get her handled pretty soon or you wont just have one feral pony but two and an ever increasing number if that foal is a colt. She is such a pretty little thing I hope the stable is ready soon and you can do some serious handling with her Bless you you could be in for a very busy and traumatic time I hope all goes well and she is a calm and good mummy when the time comes
Hope you want a baby and hope you are ready for it. I am sorry for you if you are not still I could be wrong no one can tell until the vet has beenbut she certainly is pregnant shaped. Dont be surprised if you get a foal even if you have been told there isnt one in there is a short spell when the foal drops down and the vet aand or scanner cant reach it or see it Happened to one of mine scanned not in foal in October foaled in May

I don't want a baby - without sounding horrible. I think if she is, I will most likely be selling foalie. Stabling will definitely be done by next weekend (FO's words) so 2 weeks before vet's out. Her belly is taking shape now but it seems to be bigger on one side than the other so don't know if that means anything?

almost certainly means she is pregnant foalie will have to stay with mum for at least 6 months and should be well handled have its feet picked out and trimmed and of course be taught to lead and load to give it any chance of a reasonable life and a positive future may not be your choice but is now your responsibility i/whenf it arrives

I understand, I just think it's fate really as if I had known she had being covered or was in foal, I wouldn't have gone to see her but now she may be I'm taking it as a blessing. And if she isn't, well, that'd be just brilliant!! If she is, foalie will be handled daily and by the time it reaches 6 months should be well handled and lovely and it'd go to the best of homes. :)

Plenty of knowledgeable people to ask so keep in touch it isnt an easy undertaking and lots can and does go wrong but with a bit of luck and learning as much as you can you should be ok. If she is in foal make sure your vet knows when she is due and make sure you know the signs of imminent foaling so you can have an expert on tap. Reason you need to get her easy to catch and handle is because you need to be a position to do the daily handling of the foal an if she is wild and foal proudswhe wont let you anywhere near it so you have about 5 months to get her to trust you implicitly

If she's only 4 months, I wouldn't expect her to be obviously showing in foal at this stage. Not saying she isn't though! You're doing great, and I'm glad you have updated :)

Your collie has the biggest ears I've ever seen! You know people can see the whole album those pics are from, don't you? I'd say in foal looking at her belly :eek3:

Yes, I know.
I have no idea how to turn it off though! Haha, She does. Everyone comments on her ears haha :biggrin3:
if covered in April she would be about 6-7 months by now so only 4 or 5 to go
Yeah :)

If she was covered at the beginning of April she's only just 6 months in foal as we are only just into October. I still wouldn't be expecting to see much of a belly at this stage. I hope it's just a grass belly as OP doesn't want a bogoff :) I'm sure she'll cope regardless.

Like I say, I don't want to say she is/isn't until I know for sure! I'll keep everyone updated!

I read in another thread that the pony has been actually running with the stallion for 2 years though, so if she's in foal it could be due any time.

This is true, although if Old owner was going to write down when she was covered (which she did, April 20th) surely she'd write it down if it was earlier? How soon after giving birth do they come back in season? Foal is 14months and also, when do they start showing?

Mare comes into foal heat after giving birth around a week or so. Has she had a foal before then? I thought she was a maiden.

Nope, she's had two, although not sure how that'd work for a 5 year old? To be fair, I don't believe anything she says anymore. Last one is 15 months now and when I asked her about her covering dates in her passport she said they were for the past foals which doesn't work out! Hang on, i'll grab her passport and copy what it says!

Okay - Foal born 11 May 2011. Died 12 May.
Covered 26th August. Foal born 12 July 2012.
Covered B/W Gypsy Cob April 20th 2013.

When asked about the dates, she said that she got the wrong year for 20th april and it was for the other foal but the dates don't work out if it had being from 2012? If that makes sense?
