Seems you have a good support in FO, good luck with introducing a stable. As the weather gets colder Missy may well enjoy being in, and with friends to follow I hope you get a routine going before too long.

My two youngsters took about a month to understand the routine of coming in and getting a feed each time definitely helped.

I have always found that for me a routine at a similar time each day makes the ponies so much easier to look after. When the rain is coming across our hill and the mist is down being able to stand at the gate and call, instead of having to go and search and catch is a real bonus.

The poor girl (who appears to only be in her teens) was fed up because yet again, someone on HHO had brought up her past 'misdeeds'. She was having a mini-rant, obviously in the middle of posting on this thread. I hadn't realised that there was an unwritten rule that HHO members can't post on other forums. Even if she were trolling on this thread (which I don't believe that she is) would it really matter? There are certainly other posters on this forum who have been well-known trolls in the past, who's behaviour seems to have been forgiven and forgotten and plenty more who write utter nonsense most of the time but get fairly reasonable replies.

OP, I would continue with the treats and hand feeding to get the pony used to accepting your hand near her face - just make sure that your treats are low sugar, for the sake of her health. Good luck with her!
 
Op, can't pm you at the moment but of u want a chat or any advice I had 4 completely feral ponies that I had to turn around, one was so bad he would jump 5 bar gates at 6 months old rather than be near me, they were All sold on as well handled kids ponies so I did something right, just let m know if u want any tips, no offence will be taken if you don't!

And regarding the troll thing, get over it people op has apologised we all do silly things when we r young! I remember posting pics of random horses online and telling everyone they were my yard of show jumpers and they were all ridden in Dutch gags and grackle ( I'm so cool!) it was harmless young girl stuff, didn't hurt anyone and I feel like a pleb now! We all make mistakes!

Why would you assume that :confused3: It wasn't actually. I remembered her name and you remind me of Diane (Diana?) Vickers in appearance.

You know, you might get along better on forums if you weren't so ready to take offence at everything and anything and get snarky at people, not everyone is having a go you know.

I wonder what Missy will think of her new stable. Lucy had never been stabled and now she's a stable junkie! I had to bring her in early today because it was raining and windy and every time she saw me outside she would just whinny pathetically despite it being 14 degrees and already she's getting a good winter coat. Diva!

Well done in being the bigger person, coming on here to put things right and apologize. Older and wiser people have trolled before and not had the decency to hold their hands up.

Hope you can move forwards and enjoy the forum, ignore the negative comments.
 
Oh bless you, I just watched your video!
You remind me a lot of two sisters at my yard, same accent and way of talking! (compliment btw, they were absolutely smashing)
ETA - Funnily enough one of them bought a unhandled pony who is now in foal!! I can't wait to see her baby :)

I know I've said it before, but I think you're so brave for making that and for apologising several times!
I can't wait to hear more about your Missy :)
Hehe, it's almost tempted me into making a thread where we can all make videos and say hi!
 
CT put it behind you. You are probably the only person who has ever gone to such lengths to apologise!!! We all do daft stuff when we are young ;)

Just caught up with this, popping in to see what news there was of Missy. :(

It seems CT was banned in the end. I always rather liked her, even her earlier identities. ;) She never seemed malicious, just very young, rather mixed up and needing support and advice. She was always very easy to spot, I recognised her each time she returned and always hoped that this time she'd get it right.

If she did get it right this time, it seems she was driven away. :( So sad. I guess we'll never know if Missy was pregnant now. :(

I agree with you, let us hope it is temporary, I am another who was interested in Missy updates.

Making mistakes and learning from them is part of the maturing process.

I've managed to find her on fb. She and Missy are fine. :) I'm not sure why she got accused of trolling on this thread. :confused3: I wonder have the people who make those accusations any idea of the upset they can cause? :( I don't think CT will be back here.
 
Here was an inexperienced young girl who had become the owner of a feral pony (and possible BOGOF foal) who really needed, and was asking for, advice and help.

The troll police must be so proud.
