Time, Last time I rode in a competition was years ago, So for me to remember the test is a miracle

.

Well we finally got to our dressage test, 4 times I have put my name down, only to be held back by one thing or another, vehicle, weather etc .
Didn't think I would get away this morning either as it started snowing, but according to the venue roads were clear . We have been having some issues loading, last time it took 2 hours to load the donkey, last week, it was 20 mins and on the way home it was 5 mins, Today it was 2 mins and on the way home she walked straight in

.

So got to the venue and snow was laying and it was coming down thick and fast, Warm up was outside so it was a quick warm up with a few little spooky moments . Went in and she decided she didn't like the judges car, but got her past and walked her around the edge of the arena, then we had a scary man walk down along side the arena and she did a great rein back at lightening speed

. Got her going forward and started the test .

I have been riding her in spurs every other day as she is soooo laid back and lazy big sod, Today I thought I had my spurs in the jeep, only to find one of them so went without .

Cue Pony club kicks the whole way around the test

. She obviously thought she was out for a little stroll

Towards the end of the test she started to show a little impulsion, but too little too late .

.... Oh well

48.70% and possibly quite fair . I am my own worst critique and felt I let her down a little with my riding as I am not fit at all

On saying that it was good to hear that my opinion on the areas she needs to improve on are the same areas the judge commented on .

Sorry for the quality of the video and photo, My videoman is now sacked

aww well done on your first test! I haven't competed in about 15 years so I might just settle for owner/groom and just let my friend compete... I'm happy to boast without the stress of the actual competition!! pmsl

lol at the pony club kicks!

Well done to you and Missy!! She was certainley happy to have a poodle around and see what was going on wasn't she ??

Hope getting to the next few are a little more hitch-free

well done, first one is always the hardest and she looks lovely, despite her obvious nerves and greeness! Time, patience and lots of fun trips out will only make you both even lovelier

Well done! The first one is the hardest and then you know what to work on - or in your case reaffirm what you need to work on. She'll soon find the venues a bit boring and concentrate on you - at least I'm banking on that with mine. Looks like she is getting used to the trailer already so steps in the right direction! Keep up the good work.
