I had another tough weekend as there was a show on Sat that last year i said i would take Lucy to this year. There was a dog show on aswell that i thought i may take Charlie Brown to but in the end i just couldn't face it. :(
So instead i went to the tack shop and bought Herbie some new stuff to call his own.
I bought him a new grooming kit all in red.

I also got him his own head coller and leadrope

And today i gave him a lovely groom. What a handsome boy he is.

I thought i'd give him a little lunge as he has had over 5 weeks of due to everything thats been happening in my life lately. This is what he did.

The naughty little watsit. But he wasn't anywhere near as bad as he used to be as i was able to film it. Before i would have died if i tryed to do that. :p
This is him in the end being a good boy after a small discution :o

Then this eve my wonderful OH came up and earlyer i had been moaning about the flys bothering Herbie in the field so he had gone out and got him a fly hat and had even got a red one. :D :D :D

The other thing i bought at the weekend was a flower to remind me of Lucy so many people had sugested planting a tree but that is not possible for me at the mo. What do you think.

It's a Lily I just fell inlove with it as soon as i saw it and Lily used to be one of Lucy's nicknames.
Thanks for reading. Just typing this out has made me smile :)

That flower is lovely! Very pretty , just like Lucy.
Good idea getting Herbie his own things, much easier for you to concentrate on him now and he looks very handsome in his red, deffinately suits him!

Chin up hun, were all here to talk to when things get a bit rough.

Aww, that's really lovely. Sorry you had a bad day, but at least you and Herbie had some quality time as a result. He looks really lovely (and a bit of a handful on the lunge!)

Thanks everyone. I think he looks great in Red. Bless him although my OH kept saying i should buy everything in PINK. I don't think Herbie would see the funnyside seeing as he still thinks he's a stallion. :p :D :D

Lol, I love how smug Herbie looks when you ask him to walk and he does a trot to halt in the second vid :D
He looks lovely in red. Hope things continue to look up for you :)

Thanks he used to so much worse than that so i was quite pleased with him today considering he has had nothing done with him for 5 weeks.

Oh and i forgot he even started grooming me when i groomed him instead of trying to bite and kick me like he used to. :D :D :D

Herbie is so beautiful!! and red definitely is his colour!

The flower is lovely, very appropriate :)

Laura I think Herbie is wonderful - cheeky little monkey that he is! And love his new kit. The flower is beautiful, like your Lucy.

Well done Laura for being so positive; I was wondering how you were this weekend.

The Lucy-Lily is lovely and especially appropriate as Lily was her nick-name.

Herbie's new red kit is v.smart - he looks fab! I love that he tried to groom you too this time instead of trying to kick and bite you! Seeing him lunging I think you made a very wise decision not to ride!

Thankyou Maletto and MochaDun I do think horrids lovely realy. Well i think there is a lovely pony in there somewhere. :p

Ommadawn thankyou. I don't think it helped the poor pony that the combine and several tractors where going in the field next to the school and the bailer was going in another field. So all thinks considered he probably behaved realy well. But think i'll lunge him again before i ride him :p ;) :D

Thankyou Coffee_Bean. I miss her so much and wish i had had the chance to say goodbye but could not let her suffer. I loved her to much to let that happen. :( :(

Thanks MrsMozart :o. I love my OH so much he's so thoughtfull and has been such a support over the last few weeks. He always hugs me even in the shop at the weekend when i saw a packet of Lemon sherberts (Lucys fav sweet) I just burst into tears and he just put his arms around me and said it was all ok.

Herbie is gorgeous (: Red suits him really well! I watched his other video the other day, and he's come on alot, well done you! :)
I like lucy's lily too, it's very nice :) xx

Thankyou nelle48. He is so much better than when i first got him. I hope today was just a small tantrum as he was so much better than this before all his time off. Maybe he knew he wasn't going to get to jump today :p

Big thumbs up all round! Herbie is so very handsome... and doesn't he know it! :D What a lovely idea to get him his own things, I'm so glad to see how he has improved with your hard work.

The flower is very beautiful. :)

You sound just like I imagined! I wish you lived nearby, today on the way to work (when I dream about horsie things), I was imagining what I'd do if I won the lottery. I honestly thought "I'd get Laura Wheeler to come with Herbie and she could help me with my neddies and garden". Hehe!

*big pats for Handsome (and only slightly Horrid) Herbie*

The lily (and your view) is lovely. I do like all the red stuff you bought for Herbie - one of ours, the NF has red as his colour (he's a bright bay) and he has exactly the same head collar and leadrope, daughter took about an hour choosing! Very smart.

I'm glad you have Herbie to be a little monkey and give you something to do. I hope he made you smile, especially when grooming you. It says so much that he wanted to return the favour and bond with you. He looks really handsome in his new stuff, and i think he knows it too :D

The flower is gorgeous just like Lucy, i'm sure she would be pleased with it. And possibly try to eat it :D It does look yummy...

You are doing so well x

The lily was such a lovely idea, and put next to such a beautiful background I'm sure Lucy would have loved it - this was a lovely post to read, even if things have been a bit hard today it sounds like you put all your energies into Herbie.
Herbie looks great in all his new gear and he was fairly good lunging! :p
I'm glad you have him to keep your mind focused when things are tough :) x

Thankyou jenhunt.

HollyWoozle you always say such kind things :o and yes sadly Herbie knows how handsom he is :p

Dubsie your daughter has good taste. In ponies and headcollers.

somethingorother thankyou. Yes Lucy prob would try to eat the flower. She ate everything (except ragwort).

Thankyou KellysHeroes. LOL he was fairly good lunging considering what he used to be like bless him.
