Mixed emotions today

Shadow was vetted today and will be collected tomorrow. Vet could not fault him. Im happy that he passed and his new owner rang me up and was very excited he was arriving to hers tomorrow, but im finding this difficult. Have had him four years since he was two. Its his birthday (6th) tomorrow yet he'll be going, and i cant do the usual birthday hack with him. At least is a lovely home!
Sorry i just had to let it out really. I know its a pointless post.

No its not a pointless post. I sold my coloured last year as I had too many horses/ponies and too many Kids! found a fab home and they keep in touch. It is sad but think of the good life he will be having with the new owner and the good times you've had together.
 
dont feel too bad....I have had my two ponies for 15 years now. I did not want to sell my little pony who we have had since a foal so put her out on loan...I miss her all the time...in fact every time I go to see her she does not even know me...! She just carries on eatting and running around the field...Sad times for you, but think of the nice home he is going to. My pony is having the time of her life...I would have only had her in a field wasted really.
 
i know how you feel, my mare went to her new home last week. they are so pleased with her and i know she will have a wicked fun time but its still very sad.
