Mixing Bedding

Is there any reason not to do this? I have just started to mix chopped rape with eucalyptus (like bliss) with shavings, and think it looks nice but am yet to muck out.... is there any reason to do this/not to do it?? Does anyone do it or am I just strange??

( I did it because I was buying a bulk lot of bedding, wanted the bliss cos I like it but its more expensive, so comprimised! )

I do it! Currently on beds of mixed shavings, bliss and newspaper shreds.

No problems mucking out...

Yes. Before I put my horse on straw a used to have him on chopped straw ( think it was called Belvoir then, but the same as Bliss ) mixed with shavings. It made a very nice bed.
