well i did day before dressage and after a 3 and a half hour journey we got there!
i got 33 which tbh i think i could have got a slightly better mark as some of the horses oin front of me were quite "stuff" in their trot and didnt look like they were going foward as well as millie and they got similar scores....oh well it was still respectable (her canter is much better.., not the finsihed article yet, but now far better to look at)
then i was really worried baout the sj, as some may know i have had a few problems and after a good round sj the other week in a waterford i was not so nervous about it. i had a quick jump saturday night just to get my eye in.
went in after just popping a cross and a small uproght and started ; i had lovely control and jumped the first 5 (inc a double) really really nicely on perfect strides.
i then turned to number 6 which was facing striagt into the sun and she didnt want to know...she stopped and ran sideways about 4 strides in front of the jump-TOTAOLY UNLIKE HER.
then gave her a few good kicks and she jumped it lovely but we then had the last 2 down (front feet knocked) so think it might have unsettled her, and i got 12 time faults soa nice total of 24 faults in the SJ, which i was so annoyed with as the start of the round was so great, although i can probably push her fowards a litle now i have the control!
then off to XC, i hadnt been round a course since a RC HT in April so was a little apprehensive!! i went straight after SILLYMARE! had a fab clear round bit abnoxious to start and a few dodgy strides but once she settled we had a nice round! so i finished on 57 , many many people having problems xc and have my fingers crossed that i have kind of cracked the sj now, i just have to speed up a little to increase impulsion slightly!
i have photos and video that i will put up,a nd some photos of the course!
