do you need a special lisence to tow a horse trailer?

i would love my dad to take my loan pony to a holiday place where u can take ur horse with u! but i dont know if he needs a special lisence?

not if he passed his test after a certain date. Not sure of the date off the top of my head.

Yes you do, depending on your age/when you passed your driving test. I believe if you passed before January 1997 you can tow with out a licence, other wise you have to take a test!!

Providing you passed your driving test before 01/01/1997 you can tow a horse trailer on your normal licence. Aftyer that date you have to take a further test.

Yes, January 1997 is the cut off date, if you passed before you can tow a trailer on the strength of your normal driving licence. If you passed on or after this date, you will have to take separate Trailer Test.
