Hi,

I keep Lottie on a lovely yard where there is only myself and another lady there. We can do basically what we want when we want. It's as good as our place plus cheap. The down side is I get lonely, no one to ride & have a natter with (T never rides and if she does it's only a quick hack once a week down the lane and back). This does on times get me down plus at the moment I don't have any transport. I am planning to move out of parents house and want to sort my finances out before I swap my little car for an older truck and a trailer - this also gets on my nerves as I would love to take her hunting etc.

I am a member of a local Riding Club they have a forum of sorts and was thinking of putting a thread on there regarding finding someone to ride with - but I do feel silly doing this.

What do you think? I know this is silly but I am sick and tried of always hacking out on my own. It would be lovely to have someone to ride with now and again.

Sorry for the moan/rant.
Ruth.

I know exactly how you feel! I would put up a thread on the Riding Club website, maybe someone close to you is in the same position. Hopefully I will be able to ride out with my neighbour when she brings her horses home at Christmas. Good luck, go for it!

Do you have a tack shop locally? It may be worth asking them if there is anyone near you that they know of, or how about putting a notice in a local shop? I am really lucky, while sister has been out of the saddle due to broken leg I have ridden out with the neighbours a couple of times and our riding club have had a couple of rides and there are two more before christmas. Would it be worth you trying to organise a group ride at one of the RC meeting (organising at the meeting |I mean!) People will often join a ride organised by some-one else.

im in exactly the same situation as you, there really good to me and I dont pay very much at all, but it does get really boring doesnt it! I would deffinatly put an ad on there and maybe local tack shop etc, im sure theres somone in you area thats the same! good luck xx

I keep mine at home and do get a bit lonely sometimes when I'm riding and looking after them. However, the benefit really do outweigh the down sides!

Are you planning to do any competitions when you get your trailer? Could you start to work towards these now so that you can get out and compete as soon as your have the trailer?

How about asking a local instructor to come and give you some lessons?

How far is your local livery yard? Could you ask these if anyone wants a hacking partner?
