As per title. Or, ones to avoid.
Pm if you would rather.
I am looking for one on metal skids.
We are on clay soil, so it gets very boggy in winter, but I do have a Defender to move it with.
Anything you wish you had on it, or have that you can’t do without.
TIA.

I used Prime Equestrian for mine, they're mid-range but good quality and very helpful. I've not moved mine (yet ) but have noticed this week that one of my beams is sagging so I'll be giving them a call tomorrow. I think its probably just one of those things but as it's less than a year old I'm hoping they will come out and replace it.
Ascot are supposed to be excellent but they are very expensive.

I’ve got two on wooden skids by Levade Systems which I have found brilliant so far. I had one installed a few years ago then used them again last year for another one. I found it really difficult to compare like for like prices between companies as they all have different specifications.
As for things to have- I would say have the roof lined for definite if possible. We also have overhangs which are great as not all the horses will share so even the ones that can’t fit in can have some shade/shelter. We have front guttering which helps stop the rain falling onto the backs of the ponies that only go under the overhang- although the fat cob has broken both the down pipes trying to itch on them. Levade also do sliding windows at the back of the shelters for a small extra fee which makes such a difference in the summer- having a through draught keeps the shelters much cooler.
I think they are the best investment I ever made!

I have 2 fixed and a mobile.
The mobile is an Ascot. It's now 8 years old, moves easily at least twice a year, is on rounded metal skids with drop down tow frame. Got vents, gutter, downpipe, lined inside- and has stood up to all weathers Inc 70+ mph winds. I'm on sand though.
No falling apart, tho one incumbent booted it inside and cracked the lining board 4 years ago with a shod hoof.

I got mine from Saltire, probably too far away for you but it's 8 years old now and still in very good condition. I had about 2 ft of Yorkshire boarding on the back wall, it lets the wind through and also gives excellent ventilation. Definitely get an overhang and I have guttering on the front into a water butt.

I got mine from Finer Stables, it looks fantastic and it appears to be well made. Customer service was good - they delivered and erected it for me with no problems.

They were also one of the cheaper good quality brands.

I have a barn on skids. It’s much the same but has double doors. It has metal skids and a towing a frame at one end, although I’ve never actually moved it. The roof is pitched with an overhang. I had reservations about the onduline roof but I’m very impressed with it. It’s 3 years old now and hasn’t leaked or sagged and is fully waterproof. Personally I wouldn’t choose tin, unless lined. I think it gives problems with condensation. I wouldn’t have a clear panel for a shelter as mine does get a bit warm under it.

As montmorency, mine is from Levade Systems as well and I'm really pleased with it. It's very solid, a concern as the wind blasts off the Downs here and there are many options. I have a 12x24' with overhang and guttering on metal skids and 2 openings.
I have posted that my horses wouldn't use it.....but a change of field...and success!!!!

I would avoid onduline roofing if you can, I find it starts to sag at about 8 years and fail after 10. You can get box profile which has a lining attached.
